Flying Day 1: So I Super-Trained A Magikarp

Current location: About to rejoin the game after taking a WIDE diversion to get Magikarp. The team thus far is:

Concorde the Fletchinder - Rash, STed in Atk/SA, Ember/Peck/Return/Thief
unnamed Pidgeotto - Quiet, Tangled Feet, Twister/Gust/Quick Attack/Sand-Attack
unnamed Drifloon - Timid, Aftermath, STed Speed/SA - Minimize, Astonish, Gust, Focus Energy (read: it actually hasn't battled yet) (nickname: probably Zeppelin)
unnamed Magikarp - Adamant, STed Atk/Speed - Splash, Tackle (duh)

TEH URN began with a Froakie who stuck around long enough to help me catch Fletchling (Rash means SA+, which means his special Fire moves will do damage - I went both Attacks because his Speed's high enough) which was named after the supersonic jet, and a Pidgey I haven't bothered training.

Once Fletchling was ready, we took a bit of a trip to catch Caterpie if for some reason I wanted to include Butterfree (and with Modest/Compound Eyes, it's feasible), and after taking out Santalune and Route 22 the birds were L11. By the time we finished the Gym, they were up to L14.

Nothing major on Route 4 except getting Return at the end, and then we got a Lonely Charmander (still not using) and a Jolly Doduo (d'oh) before Route 6. I decided to dodge all trainers and just get Parfum Palace over with, returning only with the Amulet Coin to maximize winnings. The Volbeat started to be a problem, until it gave up in the face of a Gust storm.

Snorlax was caught on Route 7, then we sped through the Route theoretically to get the Old Rod... then I caught a Drifloon that had really good-looking stats and decided to train it up. So we're probably trading Staraptor and Drifblim (who can learn Thunderbolt and has a high SA) in for Sigilyph and Rotom. Once we had it caught and trained up, it was Magikarp Stick time.

The good thing about the Magikarp Stick being itself is that I'm guaranteed the right Pokemon. The downside: It took a lot longer than normal to get a good 'Karp: 10 soft resets since I had one Net Ball in reserve. Finally, I got Adamant... and had to alter my Super Training plans, since I normally go L2 -> L3 but Magikarp's attack sucks SO MUCH that I had to go 1->2->3.

Tomorrow: Aerodactyl, Hawlucha, and Grant await.
